Evelyn Hone College seeks to employ a strong and dynamic person for the position of Principal and Chief Executive Officer. The college is Zambia’s largest Technical institution with a large number of students in the Applied Sciences & Health, Business, Education and Media faculties.

Job Purpose
To be responsible for strategic leadership, administrative and financial management of the Institution in attaining its role in the country’s economic, social and cultural growth and development through teaching, research, public service and innovation.
The Principal shall lead the development of the College’s educational strategic goals, frameworks and policies.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Planning
Financial Resource Management
Coordinates the development of annual operating plans and budgets for Council’s approval and prudently manages the Institution’s resources within those budget guidelines.
Academic Administration
Provides oversight in the planning and management of all academic administration to ensure integrity of the academic records, and all forms of certification of academic achievement of past and present students. Particular attention must be paid to general and faculty rules.
Communications and Working Relationship
Working closely with Schools and professional service across the Institution, specifically in areas of teaching and learning, quality enhancement, academic standards, research development, knowledge transfer and internationalization.
Resource Mobilization
Provides leadership in resource mobilization and management.
Partnerships
Develops and maintains partnerships with other Institutions, Government and Non-governmental organizations as well as bilateral and multilateral donor communities.
Leadership
Promotes sound corporate governance and ethical standards across the Institution and effectively leads by demonstrating exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organizational values.
Corporate Governance
Ensures observance of good corporate governance practices.
Performance Management System
Supervises timely development of individual work plans and implementation of APAS in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
Innovation and Research
Promotes and coordinates research and innovation activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
a) Minimum Vocational / Professional Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in a relevant technical field and/or management
• A PhD is an added advantage
b) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
• 5 years at senior management level
• Must have relevant teaching experience, preferably in TEVET Sector.

MAIN DUTIES OF LECTURING STAFF
• Undertakes the delivery of lectures in accordance with the curricula in order to impart knowledge to students.
• Undertakes student’s assessment, research supervision, and maintenance of performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of lecturing.
• Prepares schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure efficient delivery of lectures.
• Prepares teaching aids and lecture materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures.
• Undertakes research and consultancy in the relevant field in order to contribute to the body of knowledge and promote best practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Full Form VI Grade 12 Certificate
• BSc. in the relevant field of specialization. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
• Qualification in Teaching Methodology with at least 2 years work experience
• Computer literacy (word, excel, power point packages)
• Ability to work with minimum Supervision

MAIN DUTIES
• Ensures that examinations are conducted in accordance with laid down guidelines.
• Oversees the registration process of all candidates due for examinations.
• Supervises the timely collection of Examination papers from examination bodies.
• Supervises the securing of examinations papers before and after the test.
• Supervises the provision of rooms to enable examinations to be carried out.
• Supervises the collection and distribution of results from relevant examination bodies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Full Form 5/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Degree in Education
• A Masters Degree will be an added advantage
• A minimum of 2 years working experience in the conducting of examinations

4.0 INFORMATION COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY SECTION
4.1 SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR X 1
MAIN DUTIES
• Designing, installation, and configuring all servers systems both physical and virtual.
• Manages all systems infrastructure services (Directory services, DNS, DHCP).
• Monitors systems operations and performances and proactively responds to security, operational and usability concerns.
• Creates and verifies backups of servers and user data.
• Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
• Automates systems tasks and system installations by using various tools like group policy.
• Trains users in the usage of various systems applications.
• Administers user accounts and their access to resources.
• Installs, configures and administers all systems applications like corporate antivirus, emails and database systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade Twelve Certificate
• Diploma in Computer Science, or Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Industry certifications in MCSA MCSE or VCP, will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrable greater understanding of virtualization and TCP/IP.
• Ability to work with both Linux and Windows server systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Work experience of at least three years in a similar position.
4.2 IT TECHNICIAN X 02
MAIN DUTIES
• Provide first line technical support for staff and students
• Install, configure and troubleshoot computers, printers and related hardware
• Support software installations, updates and maintenance
• Assist with network troubleshooting and device configurations
• Manage ICT assets, equipment inventories and support logs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• Minimum of 2 years relevant hands on experience in ICT support or technical roles
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux environments, Active Directory and networking basics
• Knowledge of hardware diagnostics and repair
• Active membership with ICTAZ
4.4 SOFTWARE DEVELOPER X 02
MAIN DUTIES
• Develop and maintain enterprise web and mobile applications
• Build APIs and system integrations for core institutional platforms such as Finance, SIS, LMS, HR etc.)
• Develop secure, scalable backend services using industry best practices
• Manage relational databases including schema design, optimization and backups.
• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity, data privacy and internal development standards
• Conduct system testing, debugging, documentation and version control management
• Provide technical support for deployed systems
• Collaborate with the various departments in College
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field
• Minimum of 2 years relevant hands on experience in software development
• Proficiency in Typescripts/Javascript, PHP Laravel
• Strong SQL experience
• Active membership with ICTAZ
