EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

1.0 ASSISTANT EDUCATION AND MEMBERSHIP OFFICER

Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Reporting to: Education and Membership Officer

Main Job Purpose

The Assistant Education and Membership Officer will support the management of the Education and Membership Unit. The role involves assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of education and membership plans aligned with the Institute’s strategic priorities and professional development agenda for logistics and transport practitioners.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Support training providers to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and Institute policies on education and management of student membership.

  2. Collaborate with the Inspectorate Unit to develop and implement membership recruitment strategies.

  3. Assist in effective management and implementation of membership benefits and membership database.

  4. Manage membership applications, renewals and upgrades.

  5. Assist in organizing and delivering in-service training and professional development programmes.

  6. Plan, implement and prepare comprehensive reports on education and membership activities.

  7. Support the prudent administration and management of Institute’s examinations and related activities.

  8. Support the management of the Institute’s electronic system (e-ZCILT), website, and official social media platforms.

  9. Facilitate effective communication between ZCILT and international logistics and transport bodies, including CILT International.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience

  • Technology proficiency, including experience with membership, education, and examination management systems

  • Registered Member of the Teaching Council of Zambia

  • Qualification in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will be an added advantage

2.0 COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Reporting to: Director & Registrar


Main Job Purpose

To ensure that transport and logistics practitioners, private operators and public entities are compliant with the ZCILT Act No. 04 of 2014, the Institute’s policies, applicable laws and regulatory standards.

The Compliance Officer will support the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance frameworks and risk management systems to safeguard the integrity and reputation of the Institute.


Key Responsibilities

  1. To implement and effectively enforce the ZCILT Act No. 04 of 2014 of the Laws of Zambia, Institute’s rules, procedures and policies.

  2. To sensitize operators and logistics and transport practitioners about the ZCILT Act and ensure adherence/compliance.

  3. Conduct compliance investigations/audits and assessments on transport, warehousing, locomotion and transport operators (public and private) and recommend corrective actions.

  4. Manage compliance registers and statutory reporting schedules.

  5. Coordinate with relevant regulatory authorities and external stakeholders where required.

  6. Plan and implement inspection activities and prepare periodic compliance and risk management reports for Management and Council.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Degree in Logistics & TransportAdvanced Diploma in Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, or Degrees in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in compliance and risk management

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and corporate governance principles

  • Professional certification in Compliance, Criminal Prosecution, Risk Management or Governance will be an added advantage

3.0 DRIVER

Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Reporting to: Administration Office


Main Job Purpose

To provide safe, timely and efficient transport services for the Institute’s staff, officials and authorized personnel and to ensure proper maintenance and care of the assigned vehicle(s).


Key Responsibilities

  1. Drive Institute staff and officials to official meetings, events and assignments as required.

  2. Ensure the safety of passengers and adherence to traffic laws and road safety regulations.

  3. Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the assigned vehicle.

  4. Conduct routine vehicle checks and report mechanical faults promptly.

  5. Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and trip schedules.

  6. Ensure timely servicing, insurance renewals and road tax compliance of the vehicle.

  7. Deliver and collect official documents and parcels as assigned.

  8. Provide general logistical support to the Secretariat when required.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent

  • Valid SADC Driver’s License (Class B or higher)

  • Minimum of four (4) years proven driving experience

  • Not more than 35 years of age

  • Clean driving record

  • Basic mechanical knowledge will be an added advantage


Required Skills and Attributes

  • Good knowledge of Lusaka routes and surrounding areas

  • Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours when required
