    POSITION : OPERATIONS MANAGERS

    CONTRACT : PERMANENT

    LOCATION : LUSAKA AND KITWE

    REPORTS TO : FINANCE DIRECTOR

    Key responsibilities:

    1. Coordination of National Breweries Operations

    • Coordinate and supervise all National Breweries Operations within the assigned territory to ensure aligned, disciplined execution of depot and trade-related activities.
    • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between Nat brew, depot teams, sales, and central operations.

    2. Budgeting and Cost Control

    • Prepare an annual operating budget for the territory and monitor spending against that budget on a monthly basis.
    • Authorize and review all Nat brew-related expenditure, ensuring adherence to cost limits and company financial guidelines.

    3. Team Management, Training and Development

    • Effectively manage, train, and motivate personnel under the coordinator’s control, including Nat brew and depot staff.
    • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to the operations team in the preparation and execution of cyclic plans and operational schedules.
    • Evaluate subordinate performance based on clearly defined Key Result Areas (KRAs).

    4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    • Consolidate weekly Depots Performance Indicators (DPIs) for the territory and prepare summaries for management.
    • Prepare and submit regular management reports to the Operations Executive for business decision-making (e.g., delivery performance, stock-out trends, depot compliance).

    • Ensure 100% departure compliance at all depots within the territory (all planned deliveries leave on time as per schedule)
    • Ensure customer orders are delivered on agreed delivery days and within defined time windows, in the correct quantities, every time.

    6. Sales and Trade Support

    • Maximize sales through effective door-step deliveries to the trade within the area of operation.
    • In liaison with Sales Managers, identify training needs for the trade and institute relevant training programmes to improve service and sell-in.

    • Exercise strict control over trade debtors, ensuring compliance with overdue-account limits and agreed terms of trade.
    • Monitor credit exposure per customer and territory and escalate issues to senior management as required.

    8. Planning, Review and Adaptation

    • Continually assess and review operational and delivery plans in light of changing circumstances (stock, demand, route conditions, etc.) and revise plans according
    • Asset Utilization and Maintenance
    • Ensure all physical assets under the coordinator’s control (vehicles, coolers, depot infrastructure, equipment) are properly utilized, controlled, and maintained.

    9. Compliance and Safety

    • Ensure depot operations and DBC activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

    Minimum requirements

    • Knowledge and Experience Required
    • At least a degree in Business Studies with a Marketing bias and a professional qualification in Marketing or transport and logistics
    • At least 5 years post graduate experience in sales preferably in the FMCGs.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • A Member of the Zambia chartered institute of logistics and transport
