The Student Life Department invites applications from suitably qualified, committed, and passionate individuals to fill the following vacant positions at our various stations. These roles are critical in promoting child welfare, safeguarding, and holistic development within our institutions.
1. CHILD SAFEGUARDING OFFICER (1)
Station: Kasama
Job Description
· Complete virtual home visits to meet with children and their guardians.
· To assess the safety of the child, flag any safety and protection concerns, and assess needs across multiple life domains.
· Develop individualized service plans for children and sponsors and work closely with them to make progress through their individual service plans.
· Provide crisis intervention when necessary, including reporting to National office for any further action.
· Build and manage relationships with community services providers in relevant areas.
· Continually assess ongoing changes in behavior and general conditions that could impact the safety of a child.
· Use a trauma-informed approach to support the resilience and recovery of unaccompanied children who have experience trauma.
· Maintain a strong understanding of the Children’s Bill of Rights, Principles and Approaches, Protection and Safeguarding issues.
· Maintain accurate records in Vision files and required databases and consistently ensure the confidentiality of information relevant to cases.
· Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
· Travel up to 40% of the time to meet with children and their families in various locations throughout the organization.
· Consolidate reports monthly reports
· Take pictures of children and their stories
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree in Social Work, Development Studies or a related field.
Training or experience in child safeguarding and protection is an added advantage.
Strong interpersonal, counseling, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, maturity, and commitment to child welfare.
Ability to work with children, youth, and vulnerable populations.
2. PATRON
Station: Chongwe
Job Description
Provide guidance, mentorship, and discipline to children under care.
Supervise daily routines, studies, and extracurricular activities.
Ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
Work closely with matrons, social workers, and management.
Maintain discipline and uphold institutional policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate (minimum).
Certificate or Diploma in Social Work, Education, Theology or related field is an added advantage.
Experience working with children or in a boarding/residential setting.
Good moral character, patience, and commitment to child development.
Willingness to work flexible hours
