    Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest Technical  Education and Vocational Training (TEVET) institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science (MoTS). The institution is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:

    1.0 RESEARCH AND INNOVATION UNIT

    1.1 HEAD – RESEARCH & INNOVATION

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Provide leadership in the formulation of research, innovation and knowledge transfer strategies;
    • Ensure alignment of research priorities in line with the National development agenda as well as TEVETA transformation and industrialization goals;
    • Provide insight and advice to Senior Management on emerging research trends, innovation systems and evidence based institutional goals;
    • Lead the development, review and implementation of research and innovation policies;
    • Institutionalize a centralized research management system for the College;
    • Facilitate the protection, management and commercialization of intellectual property of research outputs;
    • Establish partnerships with local and international universities and colleges as well as develop CPD programmes in research and innovation;
    • Ensure a robust monitoring and Evaluation mechanism as well as provide an advisory to Management on activities regarding research and innovation;
    • Supervise the budget of the research unit and ensure the adequate supervision, motivation as well as the submission of periodic reports;
    • Supervise all the staff in the department in order to meet the objectives of the department.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form V/ Grade 12 Certificate
    • PhD in a relevant field
    • Certification by the National Health Research Authority
    • Evidence of leading research ethics institutional review board/committee
    • Compliance with TEVET/Higher Education Authority regulations
    • Proven record of accomplishments in research publications and grant acquisitions
    • A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in research, academia and innovation management.

    1.2 RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS OFFICER

    MAIN DUTIES

    • To co-ordinate the planning, implementation and tracking of research projects
    • Regularly update the institutional research database and repository
    • Support staff in the development of high quality research proposals and concept notes
    • Facilitate ethical clearance processes and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
    • Provide support with regard to manuscript preparation as well as track publications in peer reviewed journals
    • Track research outputs and prepare periodic reports on research and productivity
    • Organize training workshops in research methods, academic writing and publication
    • Provide mentorship for staff researchers and students

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form 5/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
    • Master’s Degree in Research Ethics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field
    • A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in research co-ordination or academic environment as well as a demonstrable record of research publications

    SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

    • Advanced research and analytical skills
    • High level of competency in academic writing, editing and publication
    • Sound knowledge of research ethics, compliance and data management
    • Strong organizational and stakeholder engagement skills

    1.3 GRANTS AND PARTNERSHIPS OFFICER

    MAIN DUTIES

    • To identify and track funding opportunities from government, private and international sectors
    • Co-ordinate grant proposal development processes and budget and financial planning for proposals
    • Serve as liaison between the College and external stakeholders as well as foster sound relationships with funding agencies and strategic partners
    • Monitor compliance of funded projects as well as prepare progress reports
    • Train staff in grant writing, fundraising and project management

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form 5/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
    • Master’s Degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Business or a related field
    • A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in research co-ordination or academic environment as well as a demonstrable record of research publications

    SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

    • Strong proposal writing and fundraising skills
    • Project Management and reporting skills
    • Financial Literacy and compliance knowledge
    • Excellent networking and communication skills

    1.4 STENOGRAPHER

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Provide day to day administrative support for the Research Unit
    • Maintain accurate records of research project, meetings and official documents
    • Schedule Unit meetings, workshops, conferences and training sessions
    • Maintain an accurate data base as well as assist in preparation of reports and presentations
    • Serve as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade Twelve Certificate
    • Diploma in Secretarial and Office Management with shorthand speed of 80/90 wpm and minimum typing speed of 55 wpm.
    • A minimum of 2 years

    • Proficiency in office applications and database systems

    2.0 ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT

    2.1 SCHOOL OF BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT STUDIES

    2.1.1 LECTURER – HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT x 01

    2.1.2 LECTURER – LAW (LLB) x 01

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Undertakes the delivery of lectures in accordance with the curricula in order to impart knowledge to students
    • Undertakes student’s assessment, research supervision, and maintenance of performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of lecturing
    • Prepares schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure efficient delivery of lectures
    • Prepares teaching aids and lecture materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures
    • Undertakes research and consultancy in the relevant field in order to contribute to the body of knowledge and promote best practice

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form V/ Grade 12 Certificate
    • Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of specialization. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
    • Qualification in Teaching Methodology is a must with at least 2 years’ work experience
    • Computer literacy (word, excel, power point packages)
    • Ability to work with minimum Supervision
    • Good interpersonal skills, A team player, good organizer, honest and highly professional

    2.2 SCHOOL OF APPLIED & HEALTH SCIENCES

    2.2.1 LECTURER – BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES x 01

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Undertakes the delivery of lectures in accordance with the curricula in order to impart knowledge to students
    • Undertakes student’s assessment, research supervision, and maintenance of performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of lecturing
    • Prepares schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure efficient delivery of lectures
    • Prepares teaching aids and lecture materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures
    • Undertakes research and consultancy in the relevant field in order to contribute to the body of knowledge and promote best practice

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form V/ Grade 12 Certificate
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences, A Master’s Degree in Hematology will be an added advantage
    • Qualification in Teaching Methodology is a must with at least 2 years’ work experience
    • Full HPCZ Registration and membership of the Radiological Society of Zambia

    • Undertakes the delivery of lectures in accordance with the curricula in order to impart knowledge to students in the field of Creative Digital Media.
    • Undertakes student’s assessment, research supervision, and maintenance of performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of lecturing
    • Prepares schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure efficient delivery of lectures
    • Prepares teaching aids and lecture materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures
    • Undertakes research and consultancy in the relevant field in order to contribute to the body of knowledge and promote best practice

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form V/ Grade 12 Certificate
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
    • Qualification in Teaching Methodology is a must with at least 2 years’ work experience
    • Computer literacy and should be able to proficiently lecture in Web Development, Web Design and Graphic Design.

    2.3 SCHOOL OF MEDIA & INFORMATION STUDIES

    2.3.2 LABORATORY TECHNICIAN – CREATIVE DIGITAL MEDIA

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Assists in the delivery and preparation of materials in the field of Creative Digital Media in accordance with the curricula in order to impart knowledge to students.
    • To undertake effective cleaning, storage, minor repairs and calibration of laboratory equipment in order to ensure it is in working order and available to students
    • Prepares teaching aids and laboratory materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures
    • To undertake the delivery of student tutorials in order to impart practical training

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form V/ Grade 12 Certificate
    • Diploma in Creative Digital Media or a related course. A Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage
    • Computer literacy and should be able to proficiently lecture in Graphic Design and Animation.
    • Ability to work with minimum Supervision
    • Good interpersonal skills, A team player, good organizer, honest and highly professional

    2.4 ADMISSIONS OFFICE

    2.4.1 ASSISTANT ADMISSIONS OFFICER X 01

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Assists in ensuring that admissions processes are conducted in accordance with laid down guidelines.
    • Assists in the registration process of all candidates due for registration
    • Assists in the notification of successful applicants of their admission in order to facilitate their enrolment.
    • Assists in maintaining an accurate and up to date filing system for ease reference and retrieval.
    • Assists in the preparation of adhoc and periodic activity and performance reports such as monthly, Quarterly and annual reports for the Vice Principal.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form 5/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
    • Minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration or a related field
    • A minimum of 2 year’s working experience

    3.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & CORPORATE AFFAIRS

    3.1 CUSTOMER SERVICES OFFICER X 01

    MAIN DUTIES

    • To ensure that relevant information about the College, its programmes and various activities is provided promptly to all College Stakeholders.
    • To provide efficient  customer services to all College Stakeholders
    • To maintain accurate records of College activities and information packages for clients.
    • To monitor activity on the College Facebook page and attend to queries raised by potential clients.
    • Also to monitor the information on the College website
    • Prepares and submits periodic reports of the activities carried out under Customer Services

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form 5/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
    • Minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration or a related field
    • A Minimum of 2 year’s work experience

    SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

    • Computer literate
    • Ability to maintain high levels of Confidentiality and Integrity

    4.0 HUMAN RESOURCE & ADMINISTRATION

    4.1 PRINTING TECHNOLOGIST X 01

    MAIN DUTIES

    • To effectively undertake the printing of College materials for the use by the various units in the College
    • To effectively carry out the printing of examination materials for the College
    • To undertake effectively, the cleaning, storage, minor repairs and calibration of laboratory equipment in order to ensure it is in working order and available for College use.
    • To undertake regular monitoring of stock inventory and removal of dead stock in order to ensure availability of usable stock
    • To provide efficient customer services to all College Stakeholders

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full Form 5/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
    • Minimum of a Diploma in Printing Technology or a related field
    • A Minimum of 1 year’s work experience

    SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

    • Computer literate
    • Ability to maintain high levels of Confidentiality and Integrity
    • Possess demonstrable Interpersonal skills
    • Possess good Communication and Leadership skills
