POSITION: YOUTH COMMUNICATIONS INTERN
Organization: Zambia NGO WASH Forum
Duration: Six (6) months
The Zambia NGO WASH Forum is a network of united, credible voice of 65 Zambian Civil Society Organisations, working with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and partners to realise the human right to water and sanitation, and to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment for all. In partnership with SNV, the Zambia NGO WASH Forum is implementing the Water Voices United Project. The Water Voices United Project is a four-year initiative supported by the European Union and Danish People’s Aid. The aim of the project is to enhance the participation of Zambia’s WASH Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as contributors to effective governance and development.
To drive this agenda, the NGO WASH Forum is seeking a creative, digitally savvy, and passionate young professional to join our team as a Youth Communications Intern for a six-month period. The successful intern will play a pivotal role in boosting our digital visibility, managing our social media platforms, and actively mobilizing youth involvement across the WASH sector.
Key responsibilities
The Intern will be responsible for the following:
- Creating content, curation, and daily management of the NGO WASH Forum’s social media platforms to drive youth engagement and visibility.
- Highlighting key milestones, success stories, and youth-led initiatives under the Water Voices United Project.
- Drafting clear, engaging digital updates, brief articles, reports and newsletters focused on youth inclusion and WASH advocacy.
- Advising the Forum and other project staff, on Youth activities and engagements that are relevant to the Water Voices United Project and WASH sector in Zambia
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a youth.
- A minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Communications / Journalism, or Information Technology (IT) from a credible learning institution
- Proven experience navigating the media space, a strong portfolio of managing active institutional social media pages, and excellent written communication skills.
- High visibility and an active, positive presence on social media platforms are highly desirable.
Eligibility criteria
To foster direct capacity building within our network, this opportunity is strictly restricted to candidates emerging from:
- Fully registered, Youth-Led or Media member organizations of the NGO WASH Forum.
- Prospective Youth-Led or Media Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that formally submitted their membership application to the Zambia NGO WASH Forum before 30th March 2026.

- An official recommendation letter from the leadership of the endorsing NGO WASH Forum Youth-Led or Media member (or prospective member) organization.
